Local Author Lacey McIntyre with her new book          Cover of her book "Savannah Sleeper is a Troubled T-Rex"

Savannah Sleeper has been having some trouble sleeping. She is certain there is a terrible monster under her bed! To help with her fears, her parents gave her a special new doll to sleep at her side. To Savannah's surprise, her doll comes to life one night and takes her on the adventure of a lifetime! Dolly helps give Savannah courage to face her room monster as they learn wonderful lessons about friendship and bravery.

Lacey McIntyre was born and raised in Indiana and has always had a love of working with children and animals. After graduating college in Tennessee she ended up in southern Utah when her husband got a dream job working with the National Park Service. She spent 5 years running the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve visitor center and doing outreach and education where she developed a deep love for the desert habitat as well as teaching others about conservation. She currently owns Leaping Lizards Reptile Experience where she takes her reptile family members to parties, schools, and community events to share her love of all things scaly!
Writing her first children's book, Savannah Sleeper is a Troubled T-Rex, has been a dream come true. She loves teaching children the importance of reading, learning, and playing as well as showing them that all three of those things go hand in hand.
The author also has some fun parent/teacher resources to go along with the book, so there may be handouts at the event for your kids.
